The Story behind Everything Early Learning
I have watched Molly and Charlotte wish on thousands of dandelions! To this day they get so excited to see a “dandelion wish.” Something so special is ignited within them when they spot that soft, fluffy, white little wish that many of us consider a weed. I watch them run and skip with so much joy to pick that perfect wish. Thinking deeply about what they may wish for this time. Closing their eyes so tightly, taking a deep breath and exhaling, blowing the tiny seeds into the air, only for each seed to land and sprout yet another little dandelion.
Memories of weeds and wishes
It was a beautiful summer day. Molly was around 8 months old. Anthony, Molly and I were at an outdoor artisan market. It was one of those perfect days, blue sky, a few distinct cotton-ball clouds, warm sun. I was feeling so grateful for our little family and so happy to have finally become a Mommy – something I had always wished for.
We were pushing Molly in the stroller, walking around and looking at all of the amazing vendors’ creations when we came across something so special.
It was the “Dandelion Quote” (as we like to call it now).
This is exactly how children see the world. It struck us and we bought it right away. It reminded us of the innocence of childhood, the wonder, joy, and excitement that comes with being a child. It reminded us of hope and wishes and dreams for our future, and our children’s future too. It reminded us that children are like little seeds that are planted, cared for, and sprout into something amazing.
A Symbol for Hopes and Dreams
The dandelion quickly became a Daly family symbol, and you might see a sign of it in Everything Early Learning!
I’ve always wanted to build something that captured the wishes and wonder of childhood. Something that nourished children like the little seedlings they are. Something I could create to help foster those positive, responsive relationships between children and their families. It was my wish to inspire other families to grow and learn together.
And so, Everything Early Learning was born and there was no better symbol to represent my heart and soul than the dandelion. Have you ever watched your little one with dandelions?
